Dunster Memorial Hall is home to the recently refurbished Dunster Museum, where you can explore the amazing history of this beautiful medieval Exmoor village.
It also houses Dunster’s renowned Doll Collection, one of the largest public collections of dolls in the UK, with hundreds on display, dating from the early 19thC to the present, and from all around the world.
On the stage area at the rear of the Hall you will find our activities area – have a go at stamping your own tile pattern or creating your own coat of arms, drawing your favourite doll or completing one of our quizzes.
Our Museum Shop offers a variety of different items – from vintage dolls to bric-a-brac and second-hand books, as well as home-made jam and plants in season. All proceeds from sales directly support the Museum and Hall.
Our exhibition area currently features information boards about of the findings of the Early Dunster Project.
From time to time our Spinning & Weaving group give demonstrations in the Hall – keep up to date with
what’s going on via our Facebook page.
Behind the scenes, volunteer researchers are uncovering more about Dunster’s past, and will to try to help you if you are researching your own Dunster family or house history.
